A cast of surprising stars leads this slasher into territory that is perhaps a little more heartfelt and genuine than your typical summer camp slasher pic from the 80s.
Whoa boy, did we enjoy deconstructing this terribly forgettable flick that, nevertheless, stars primo scream queen Jamie Lee Curtis – and a very brief appearance by Leslie Nielsen.
Our second Victor Salva movie (we previously discussed Clownhouse), and it’s clear this man has some style and originality in his films. Both of us loved this unique – if uneven – romp that begins as a suspenseful chase film and ends up a monster movie.
This classic from Roger Corman has spawned a hit musical and terrific 1980’s movie update starring Rick Moranis. Yeah, there is the inherent 1960’s goofiness in the original, but even much of that is clearly intentional. Give this short little movie a shot and you may just be surprised.
We were definitely split on this unique throwback to those old Italian giallo horrors of the 70’s. Shout out to Todd’s main man, Lucio Fulci!
